What is HiPP German Stage PRE?

Stage PRE is HiPP's very first infant milk, suitable from birth. Its only carbohydrate is lactose — just like breast milk — and it contains no starch, so it stays light and can be fed as often as your baby needs. It's a complete formula, used on its own or alongside breastfeeding.

Formats disponibles

Bio Combiotic (600 g powder) — the classic recipe with prebiotics and natural cultures.
Pure (500 g powder) — starch-free, palm-oil-free, made with whole milk fat and lactose only.
Ready to Feed (200 ml & 90 ml bottles) — pre-mixed for travel and night feeds.

How much and how often?

Newborns feed little and often — small amounts many times a day, gradually taking more per feed and fewer feeds as they grow. Because Stage PRE is lactose-only and light, it can be fed on demand. Always follow the feeding table on the pack for your baby's age and weight, and ask your health visitor or paediatrician if you're unsure.

How to prepare HiPP Stage PRE

Prepare a fresh bottle for each feed using previously boiled water cooled as directed on the pack, and use the exact scoop-to-water ratio — never add more or less powder. Discard any formula left over after a feed.

PRE vs Étape 1

Both are suitable from birth. Stage PRE is lactose-only and lightest; Stage 1 adds organic starch as a second carbohydrate, making it a little more filling for hungrier babies.
