How to prepare and store
Step 1:
Before use, sterilize the bottle, nipple, and ring in boiling water.
Step 2:
Boil the water and allow it to cool to room temperature.
*We recommend boiling spring water
Step 3:
Pour approximately half of the water into the bottle.
Step 4:
Fill the measuring spoon and level with a knife.
Step 5:
Add milk powder indicated in the table below.
Step 6:
Close the bottle and shake thoroughly.
Step 7:
Add the rest of the water and shake again.

Care Instructions:
- Expiration date is indicated on each box and sealed bag
- Keep away from heat and humidity
- Discard mixed unconsumed formula after 1 hour
- Once formula bag is open, use in the next 3 weeks.
- Formula is best when stored in stainless steel or glass containers

What age is HiPP German Stage Pre for?
HiPP German Stage Pre is suitable from birth. It can be used as your baby's only milk or alongside breastfeeding, and can be fed for as long as your baby is content with it — many parents continue until 6 months, then move to Stage 2.
Is HiPP German Stage Pre right for my baby?
Stage Pre is the gentlest recipe in the HiPP German range and the closest to breast milk in composition. Lactose is its only carbohydrate: there is no starch and no maltodextrin. That makes it a common first choice for newborns. If your baby seems hungry soon after feeds, HiPP German Stage 1 is slightly more filling. If your baby has a diagnosed food allergy, speak to your paediatrician before choosing a formula.
Does HiPP German Stage Pre contain GMOs, pesticides or hormones?
No. HiPP German Stage Pre is EU organic certified and made without GMOs, synthetic pesticides, herbicides, added hormones or antibiotics. Added sugars such as corn syrup, glucose syrup and sucrose are never used in HiPP formula.
Is HiPP German Stage Pre gluten-free and soy-free?
Yes. HiPP German Stage Pre is gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and peanut-free.
Does HiPP German Stage Pre contain starch or maltodextrin?
No. Stage Pre is lactose-only: no starch and no maltodextrin. This sets it apart from most other HiPP German stages, which include organic starch to make the formula more filling.
Does HiPP German Stage Pre contain DHA?
Yes. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to normal visual development in infants up to twelve months. HiPP German Stage Pre also contains ARA (omega-6), iron and vitamins A, C and D.
Does HiPP German Stage Pre contain probiotics?
Yes. HiPP German contains natural lactic acid cultures originally derived from breast milk, alongside prebiotic fibres (GOS). HiPP UK does not contain probiotics.
How is HiPP German different from HiPP Dutch and HiPP UK?
All three are made in Germany and EU organic certified. HiPP German has the widest stage range, from Pre to Stage 4, and most stages include organic starch, which makes them more filling. HiPP Dutch is lactose-only and starch-free throughout. HiPP UK is the British recipe, starch-free but without probiotics.
How many bottles does one box of HiPP German Stage Pre make?
Each box contains 600 g of powder and makes approximately 4.5 litres (155 fl oz) of prepared formula — around 30 bottles of 150 ml. Follow the preparation instructions on the pack.
How many boxes of HiPP German Stage Pre do I need per month?
If formula is your baby's only milk, most newborns get through around 4 boxes in the first month, rising to about 6 or 7 a month by six months. Every baby is different, so treat this as a guide and follow the feeding chart on the pack.
Which stage comes after HiPP German Stage Pre?
HiPP German Stage 2, from 6 months onwards. Some parents move to Stage 1 before that if their baby needs something more filling; Stage 1 is also suitable from birth.
