How to prepare and store
Wash your hands well and sterilise the bottle, teat and ring for 10 minutes in boiling water.
Step 1:
Boil fresh drinking water and allow it to cool to approx. 40–50 °C.*
Step 2:
Pour the cooled water in the correct amount into the bottle.
Step 3:
Fill the measuring scoop loosely and level it off. Add the recommended amount of milk powder to the bottle.
Step 4:
Close the bottle and shake vigorously.
Step 5:
Allow to cool to drinking temperature (approx. 37 °C). Check the temperature. Now it is ready!
*To avoid damaging the natural lactic acid bacteria, it is advisable not to pour boiling water over the milk powder.
Always use 1 measuring scoop (4.5 g) for 30 ml of water. Standard preparation: 13.4 g powder + 90 ml water = 100 ml of reconstituted milk. One tin makes 59 bottles of 100 ml. Babies need approx. 5 meals per day; with every new meal of solid food, one bottle feed should be dropped. The recommended amounts and number of portions per day are guidelines; your child does not have to finish the bottle. To be consumed as part of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. HiPP 2 BIO Combiotik® must not be used as a substitute for breast milk during the first six months of life; it is only suitable as particular nutrition for infants aged at least six months, as part of a varied diet.
Care Instructions:
- Important: improper preparation or use of this product can harm your child's health. Follow the advice below carefully
- Use a carefully washed and sterilised bottle, teat and ring
- Use only the measuring scoop included in this tin
- Always prepare the bottle just before the feed and give it to your baby immediately; the bottle must be consumed within half an hour
- Do not heat the milk in the microwave (risk of scalding)
- Do not reuse leftover milk
- Check the best-before date on the bottom of the tin. After opening, the well-closed tin of HiPP 2 BIO Combiotik® powder can be kept for 3 weeks in a dry place at room temperature
- If you give this milk from a bottle, do not let your child suck on it for long periods. Regular or prolonged contact of the teeth with liquids containing carbohydrates can cause tooth decay. Teach your child good dental hygiene from the first milk teeth – especially before bedtime

What age is HiPP Dutch Stage 2 for?
HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is a follow-on milk for babies from 6 months, alongside solid foods. From 12 months, move on to HiPP Dutch Stage 3.
Is HiPP Dutch Stage 2 right for my baby?
HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is a complete follow-on milk for healthy babies from 6 months, designed to sit alongside a growing weaning diet. It uses lactose as its only carbohydrate and is free from starch and maltodextrin. It contains more iron than Stage 1, to meet the increased needs of babies from six months. If your baby has a diagnosed food allergy, speak to your paediatrician before choosing a formula.
Does HiPP Dutch Stage 2 contain GMOs, pesticides or hormones?
No. HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is EU organic certified and made without GMOs, synthetic pesticides, herbicides, added hormones or antibiotics. Added sugars such as corn syrup, glucose syrup and sucrose are never used in HiPP formula.
Is HiPP Dutch Stage 2 gluten-free and soy-free?
Yes. HiPP Dutch Stage 2 is gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and peanut-free.
Is HiPP Dutch Stage 2 good for sensitive tummies?
Many parents choose HiPP Dutch for this reason. It contains no starch, no maltodextrin and no soy, and adds prebiotic fibres (GOS) and lactic acid cultures to support a healthy gut. If your baby has persistent colic, reflux or constipation, a specialty formula such as HiPP Comfort or HiPP Anti-Reflux may suit them better — discuss this with your paediatrician.
Does HiPP Dutch Stage 2 contain DHA?
Yes. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to normal visual development in infants up to twelve months. HiPP Dutch Stage 2 also contains higher iron levels than Stage 1 to support your growing baby.
Does HiPP Dutch Stage 2 contain probiotics?
Yes. HiPP Dutch contains natural lactic acid cultures originally derived from breast milk, alongside prebiotic fibres (GOS). This is one of the differences between HiPP Dutch and HiPP UK, which is prebiotic-only.
How is HiPP Dutch different from HiPP German and HiPP UK?
All three are made in Germany and EU organic certified. HiPP Dutch is lactose-only and starch-free, and contains both prebiotics and probiotics. HiPP German has the widest stage range and most stages include organic starch, which makes it more filling. HiPP UK is the British recipe and is starch-free, but without probiotics.
How many bottles does one can of HiPP Dutch Stage 2 make?
Each can contains 800 g of powder and makes approximately 6 litres (200 fl oz) of prepared formula — around 30 bottles of 200 ml. Follow the preparation instructions on the pack.
How many cans of HiPP Dutch Stage 2 do I need per month?
If formula is your baby's only milk, expect around 4 cans a month at six months, dropping to about 3 once solid foods become a real part of the diet. Every baby is different, so treat this as a guide.
Which stage comes after HiPP Dutch Stage 2?
HiPP Dutch Stage 3. It is suitable from 10 months, and Stage 2 can be used up to 12 months, so you can switch at any point in between.
Do I have to pay import duties on orders to Canada?

When will my baby formula expire?
Expiration dates are always at least 6 months into the future, but mostly 12 months into the future. We strive to provide the freshest ingredients with the fastest turnarounds. We never ship perishable products that are about to expire!
What is the storage life once my product is opened?
HiPP Infant Milk Formulas can stay fresh for up to 21 days after being opened.
How do I properly store my product once it's opened?
For longer-lasting freshness, always make sure to reseal the bag and place it back in the original package or store in a reusable container between uses. Store in a dry place at room temperature.
Do I have to use boiling water?
We recommend you follow the manufacturer's preparation instructions, which usually includes freshly boiling water for each meal to kill bacteria and ensure proper sanitation.
What if my baby doesn't like the taste?
If for whatever reason your baby doesn't like the taste, we'll give you a store credit so you can try another brand on us. However, we always recommend giving it a try for at least a week.
Is it OK to prepare formula ahead of time for use later?
The safest way to prepare formula is to make it fresh each time as needed. This is because formula that's been sitting around has more time for harmful bacteria to grow, especially when kept at room temperature. However, if you need to prepare ahead of time, make sure to store in the refrigerator below 41° F/5° C.
Can I bring prepared formula with me when I'm traveling?
Yes, but make sure to store in a cold cooler during transport and don't keep it for longer than two hours.
How do I rewarm refrigerated formula?
Feeds can be rewarmed by placing the tightly sealed feed in a container of warm water, stirring and swirling occasionally to make sure it heats evenly.
Why should I buy all the way from Europe?
