HiPP Hypoallergenic Stage Pre is designed for little ones from birth and primarily for infants who are at risk of allergies or have shown signs of sensitivity to cow's milk proteins. HiPP German HA Pre is an infant formula with hydrolysed whey protein, suitable from birth. It is intended for babies with an increased risk of allergy — typically when a parent or sibling has eczema, asthma, hay fever or a food allergy — who need formula alongside or instead of breast milk. Speak to your doctor or midwife before choosing it.
Not suitable for a cow's milk protein allergy. Do not use HiPP HA if your baby has, or may have, a cow's milk protein allergy. Its protein is not broken down far enough for babies with this allergy; they need a formula recommended by their doctor.
It contains natural lactic acid cultures and prebiotic fibres (GOS), and has no starch, maltodextrin, added sweeteners or soy.

How to prepare and store
Step 1:
Clean bottle, teat and ring thoroughly.
Step 2:
Check the closure and protective foil for perfect condition before use. Shake the sealed product vigorously before use.
Step 3:
Unscrew the cap and peel off the protective foil. Pour the required amount into a feeding bottle, warm it to approx. 40 °C and shake vigorously again. Do not heat the food in the microwave (risk of scalding!).
Step 4:
Allow to cool to drinking temperature (approx. 37 °C) and check the temperature before feeding. Feed immediately and discard any leftovers.
Use: ideal for supplementary feeding, and as the sole ready-to-drink food from birth. Each bottle contains 90 ml; a carton contains 24 bottles.
* Unless your doctor recommends otherwise. ** From the 5th month you can, in consultation with your paediatrician or midwife, start with solid food. With every new and fully introduced solid meal, one bottle feed should be dropped. Every baby is different; the amount per bottle can vary considerably. The amounts and number of portions per day are guidelines. Your baby does not have to finish the bottle.
Care Instructions:
- Follow the instructions for preparation carefully. Improper preparation and storage of the prepared food can harm your baby's health, e.g. through the growth of undesirable germs
- Store an opened, unwarmed bottle closed in the refrigerator (max. 6 °C) and use within 24 hours. Shake the bottle vigorously again when using it again
- Packed under a protective atmosphere. Store dry at room temperature. Make sure the packaging is undamaged before use
- Contraindication: do not use HiPP PRE HA COMBIOTIK in case of existing cow's milk protein allergy, lactose intolerance, galactosaemia or glucose-galactose malabsorption
- HiPP PRE HA COMBIOTIK must not be used if a cow's milk protein allergy already exists or is suspected
- Breastfeeding is best for your baby. Please speak to your paediatrician or midwife if you would like to use an infant formula
- Like breast milk, all infant formulas contain carbohydrates. Frequent or prolonged contact of the teeth with carbohydrate-containing liquids can cause tooth decay. Do not let your child suck on the bottle continuously

Can HiPP German HA Pre be used for a cow's milk protein allergy?

Its protein is not broken down far enough for babies with this allergy, so it can still cause a reaction. Babies with a cow's milk protein allergy need an extensively hydrolysed or amino-acid-based formula, which your doctor can advise on.
Does HiPP German HA Pre contain DHA?
Yes. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to normal visual development in infants up to twelve months. HiPP German HA Pre also contains ARA (omega-6), iron and vitamins A, C and D.
Is HiPP German HA Pre good for colic or a sensitive tummy?
HiPP German HA Pre is not designed for colic, wind or constipation. If your baby has ongoing tummy troubles, speak to your doctor, who may suggest a special formula such as HiPP Comfort. HiPP German HA Pre is lactose-only and contains no starch, maltodextrin or soy.
Does HiPP German HA Pre contain probiotics?
Yes. HiPP German HA Pre contains natural lactic acid cultures originally derived from breast milk, alongside prebiotic fibres (GOS).
How much formula is in each package?
Each bottle of HiPP Hypoallergenic Stage Pre contains 90ml, enough for one feed. There are 24 bottles in each package, enough for around 24 feeds.
Should I consult a doctor before using HiPP German HA Pre?
Yes. Speak to your doctor or midwife before choosing a hydrolysed formula. They can advise whether HiPP German HA suits your baby and check for a cow's milk protein allergy, for which it is not suitable.
What should I do if my baby shows signs of an allergy?
Speak to your doctor straight away, and seek emergency help if your baby has swelling of the face or difficulty breathing. Signs such as hives, vomiting, blood in the stool or persistent eczema need medical assessment. HiPP German HA is not suitable for babies with a cow's milk protein allergy.
How is HiPP German HA different from regular HiPP German formula?
The main difference is the protein. In HiPP German HA the whey protein is hydrolysed — broken into smaller pieces — while regular HiPP German uses intact milk protein. HiPP German HA is not organic, and every HA stage is lactose-only and starch-free, whereas most regular HiPP German stages contain organic starch.
Is HiPP German HA Pre organic?
No. HiPP German HA Pre is not certified organic. It is made by HiPP in Germany under the same EU rules for infant formula as every HiPP formula.
