How to prepare and store
HiPP Kindermilch COMBIOTIK® can be prepared warm or cold.
Step 1:
Boil fresh drinking water and allow it to cool to approx. 40–50 °C.*
Step 2:
Pour the required amount of water into a (sippy) cup.
Step 3:
Add the required amount of powder using the enclosed measuring scoop.
Step 4:
Stir and check that it is at drinking temperature (approx. 37 °C).
*To avoid damaging the natural lactic acid cultures, do not prepare the drink with water that is too hot. If you use tap water for cold preparation, let the water run until it comes out of the tap cold.
1 level scoop = approx. 5.7 g. One scoop of powder needs 45 ml of water. Standard preparation: 11.3 g powder + 90 ml water = 100 ml. One portion: 3 scoops (17.0 g) + 135 ml water = 150 ml. One pack makes 35 portions. The recommended amount is 300 ml a day (2 portions); amounts and portions per day are guidelines only, and your child does not have to finish the cup. For children from 1 year, to drink from a cup, as part of a meal at breakfast, in muesli or at dinner.
Care Instructions:
- Follow the instructions exactly; improper preparation and storage of the prepared drink can harm your child's health, e.g. through the growth of undesirable germs
- Prepare freshly before every meal and serve immediately; do not reuse leftovers
- Use only the enclosed measuring scoop
- Do not heat in the microwave (risk of scalding)
- Reseal the opened bag well after use, store dry at room temperature and use within 3 weeks
- Ensure a varied, balanced diet; from the first tooth, brush teeth regularly – especially before bedtime

Is HiPP German Stage 4 right for my child?
HiPP German Stage 4 is a toddler milk for healthy children from 12 months, designed to complement a varied family diet rather than replace it. Unlike HiPP German Stages 1 to 3, it is starch-free: lactose is its only carbohydrate. If your child has a diagnosed food allergy, speak to your paediatrician before choosing a formula.
Does HiPP German Stage 4 contain GMOs or added sugars?
No. HiPP German Stage 4 is made without genetically modified ingredients, and HiPP does not add sugars such as corn syrup, glucose syrup or sucrose to its formula. Lactose is its only carbohydrate.
Is HiPP German Stage 4 gluten-free and soy-free?
Yes. HiPP German Stage 4 is gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and peanut-free.
Does HiPP German Stage 4 contain starch or maltodextrin?
No. HiPP German Stage 4 contains neither starch nor maltodextrin; lactose is its only carbohydrate. This is a change from HiPP German Stages 1 to 3, which include organic starch.
Does HiPP German Stage 4 contain DHA?
Yes. HiPP German Stage 4 contains DHA (omega-3), alongside calcium and vitamin D, which are needed for normal growth and development of bone in children.
Does HiPP German Stage 4 contain probiotics?
Yes. HiPP German contains natural lactic acid cultures originally derived from breast milk, alongside prebiotic fibres (GOS). HiPP UK does not contain probiotics.
How is HiPP German different from HiPP Dutch and HiPP UK?
All three ranges are made in Germany. HiPP German has the widest stage range, from Pre to Stage 4; Stages 1 to 3 include organic starch, while Pre and Stage 4 are starch-free. HiPP Dutch is lactose-only and starch-free throughout. HiPP UK is the British recipe, starch-free but without probiotics. Stage numbers don't line up between versions: HiPP German Stage 4 starts at 12 months, while HiPP Dutch Stage 3 starts at 10 months and HiPP Dutch Stage 4 at 24 months.
How many bottles does one box of HiPP German Stage 4 make?
Each box contains 600 g of powder and makes approximately 5.3 litres (180 fl oz) of prepared milk — around 35 servings of 150 ml. Follow the preparation instructions on the pack.
How many boxes of HiPP German Stage 4 do I need per month?
If formula is your toddler's only milk, expect around 1.5 to 2 boxes a month, based on two 150 ml servings a day alongside a varied diet. This stays steady through the second year. Every child is different, so treat this as a guide.
Which stage comes after HiPP German Stage 4?
Stage 4 is the final stage in the HiPP German range. Many families use it until around two years, then move to regular cow's milk alongside a varied family diet.
