How to Make Your Holiday Travels with Baby Joyful

The holidays are here and many people across the nation will be traveling with their little ones. As any parent of a young child knows, traveling with a little one is not always the easiest. However, a trip with baby doesn’t have to equal disaster and in fact, can be a joyous experience when thoughtfully planned.

At My Organic Formula, we know a thing or two about traveling with a baby and in particular, a formula fed baby. Here are our top tips on making your trip a success:

Pack lots of snacks and drinks

Regardless of whether you are traveling by plane or car, you’re going to need a lot of snacks and drinks. When you’ve got food and drinks at hand, you won’t need to wait for a flight attendant or a stop to satisfy those cravings. Young children typically snack more than adults and can get dehydrated faster than adults too, making it even more important food and water is close at hand.

If your baby is not eating solids yet, make sure to pack plenty of formula and if you can, pack it into individual serving formula dispensers. Also, make sure to grab bottled or filtered water to prepare your baby’s bottle. Again, you don’t want to have to wait on another person or stop to get your hungry baby fed.

Stay flexible

It can be hard not stick to how you do things at home, but when traveling it’s always best to stay flexible. Your little one is, well, little and may not always take being home away from home and her normal routine as well as you do. Be prepared for almost any situation and don’t let it phase you if things don’t go as planned. For example: your baby may not normally nap at home, but if she wants to take a nap after a long day of sightseeing, let her!

Pack a bag of toys

A bag filled with your baby or child’s favorite toys is a great way to keep them entertained when on a long trip. Although you’ll have to be more selective of how many toys you bring when flying, try to pack more than what you think you need. If you really want to wow your child, pack a brand new toy (or two) for them to play with.

Don’t Forget Wipes

Although you may be able to survive without them, we recommend packing a few packages of wipes too. No matter what age your child is, they come in handy for wiping down messes, toys, tables, etc.

Traveling with a child can be challenging, but the more prepared you are to handle a variety of situations, the easier it can be for both you and baby!
