HiPP vs. Holle

HiPP vs. Holle

We at MyOrganicFormula.com are quite choosy about the products we carry. When it comes to the health of your baby, we want to offer the very best. That’s why we have chosen HiPP and Holle as our two leading formulas. We are often asked, “What’s the difference between HiPP and Holle?” after all, they are two European companies with very similar standards. Both companies follow extremely high organic standards, though their certifications bear different names. The main difference between the two companies boils down to the products they offer.

Farming Standards

HiPP and Holle both use very similar Biodynamic farming standards. Holle is a Demeter certified company, whereas HiPP is a Biodynamic certified company. Both Demeter and Biodynamic certifications require very strict adherence to organic, sustainable farming. At the very heart of Biodynamic and Demeter farming is a deep respect for land, animal and community welfare. Both certifications provide for sustaining soil fertility; maintaining diverse natural and agricultural lands and minimizing ecological impact. Both certifications require proper animal husbandry and respect for livestock, over largescale production, including proper nutrition for animals so that they can produce their very best. These certifications prohibit the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides, GMO’s, antibiotics, steroids and hormones. Biodynamic and Demeter farms are involved in bettering their communities as well as producing pure organic foods for everyone.

There are a few small differences between the two certifications, including things like beliefs on clipping a cow’s horns, and which animals make good breeding stock. At their cores, however both certifications are the same and produce the same high standard organic products.

Hipp Products Vs. Holle Products

The main difference between HiPP and Holle are the products they carry. Holle carries two simple formula lines, one which is cow milk based, and one which is goat milk based. HiPP on the other hand has diversified its formula lines to meet the many varying needs of the individual baby.

Holle Products

Holle Cow Milk Formula: This creamy grass fed cow milk formula is chock full of pure nutrition and comes in stages 1-4 to meet the growing needs of your infant and toddler.

Holle Goat Milk Formula: For infants that are sensitive to cow milk formula, Holle offers a goat milk formula. Goat milk is generally better tolerated in cow milk sensitive individuals. Holle Goat milk formula comes in stages 1-3, to meet the needs of your growing baby.

HiPP Products

HiPP Bio: HiPP’s general line, HiPP Bio is simple and pure, straightforward nutrition for babies newborn to 3 years old.

HiPP Bio Combiotik: HiPP’s special line, HiPP Bio Combiotik is for babies who are a little more sensitive and have frequent upset stomachs. HiPP Bio Combiotik is an easy to digest formula with probiotics and prebiotic fibers, like those found in breastmilk which support your baby’s gut health and immune system.

HiPP Bio Combiotik without Starch: For our parents who are worried about starch or maltodextrin in the HiPP stage 2 and above formulas, we also carry this version of the German HiPP Bio combiotik without starch.

HiPP Combiotic from the UK: HiPP has developed a special line of pure and simple formula for the United Kingdom market. HiPP Combiotic UK is very similar to HiPP’s German Bio Combiotik line. It contains probiotics for gut and immune health, and does not contain starch or maltodextrin.

HiPP Combiotik HA: HiPP’s hypoallergenic line, HiPP Combiotik HA is for babies who have a cow milk sensitivity or other formula allergies. Its whey based proteins have been broken down so that they no longer create sensitivities in allergic babies. HiPP Combiotik HA also contains probiotics and prebiotic fibers to help support your baby’s gut health and immune system.

HiPP AR: HiPP’s special acid reflux line, HiPP AR is for those babies who experience frequent spitting up, vomiting or acid reflux. Thickened with carob bean gum to prevent reflux, HiPP AR supports your baby’s digestive health with prebiotic fibers and probiotics, as well as balancing acid with added calcium.

HiPP Special Comfort: HiPP’s Special comfort is especially formulated with the very sensitive baby in mind. HiPP Special comfort helps when your baby is frequently gassy, often constipated or plagued by diarrhea. It is an easy to digest formula with several components found in breastmilk which help to support the digestive system, including probiotics, prebiotic fibers and Beta-Palmitate which helps with the healthy metabolism of fats.

HiPP Goodnight: HiPP Goodnight is a special formula for infants 6 months and up; and is a combination of follow on formula and cereals. It is a thick and creamy formula that can be used before bed to help your baby sleep longer between feedings at night.

HiPP and Holle are both known for their high organic standards and purity. If you are seeking simple, pure nutrition for your baby, choose Holle cow or goat formula or HiPP Bio formula to meet your everyday needs. If your baby needs more support than pure nutrition alone can offer, check out all of the other supportive formulas HiPP has to offer. In either case, be well assured that your baby is getting the very best.
